Who this pathway suits

For people who want to improve how organisations operate.

AUTOMATE is suitable for operations professionals, technical career changers, analysts, process owners and builders who want to connect systems and apply AI safely to real business workflows.

01

Find the right problems

Map processes, quantify opportunities and identify risk before choosing a tool.

02

Connect systems directly

Use APIs, webhooks, structured data and authentication to move beyond basic connectors.

03

Build reliable workflows

Design modular automation with validation, retries, approvals and failure recovery.

04

Create grounded AI systems

Build structured-output applications and RAG knowledge experiences supported by sources.

05

Control assistants and agents

Define tools, permissions, escalation, refusal and human oversight.

06

Evaluate and operate

Measure quality, cost, latency, security and operational reliability.

Specialist curriculum

What you will learn

The pathway begins with business diagnosis and deterministic automation before introducing justified AI autonomy.

A1

Process Discovery, APIs & Integration

Find worthwhile problems, map processes and connect systems safely.

A2

Workflow Automation & Reliability

Build modular workflows with validation, approvals and failure recovery.

A3

LLM Apps, RAG & Assistants

Create grounded AI experiences with structured outputs and source evidence.

A4

Agentic Systems, Evaluation & Capstone

Apply bounded autonomy with testing, observability, cost control and human oversight.

Portfolio evidence

What you will leave with

The portfolio focuses on reliable business outcomes, not a collection of disconnected tool demonstrations.

01

Process diagnostic

A current-state map, opportunity case, risks and justified scope.

02

Reliable integration and workflow

Connected systems with validation, error handling and operating evidence.

03

Evaluated AI component

A grounded assistant or RAG experience with explicit tests and limitations.

04

AUTOMATE capstone and runbook

A client-style system with acceptance evidence, controls and handover.

How learning works

Diagnose, build, evaluate, operate.

A workflow is not complete because it runs once. Learners must demonstrate normal operation, failure handling and safe shutdown.

01

Live teaching

Process, integration, AI and operational concepts with guided demonstrations.

02

Recorded access

Revisit technical explanations and implementation patterns around your schedule.

03

Automation labs

Build integrations, workflows, AI components and failure-recovery paths.

04

Acceptance and handover

Evaluate against criteria and show another operator how to support or disable it.

AUTOMATE questions

Frequently asked

Do I need previous automation or coding experience?

No. The shared Foundation introduces product, AI and automation concepts before specialisation. Learners still need to develop technical confidence with data, APIs and structured problem-solving.

Is this just learning n8n?

No. n8n is one orchestration option. The pathway teaches process discovery, APIs, data, AI applications, RAG, assistants, agents, evaluation, security and operations.

Will I build autonomous agents?

Only where autonomy is justified. Deterministic workflows are considered first, and agentic systems require permissions, evaluation, observability, cost control and human escalation.

Are dates, duration and fees confirmed?

Not yet. These will be announced after final operational planning. Register your interest to receive the confirmed information.
